ORPHANetwork

This November,

You can send messages of hope to highly vulnerable children.
More than half of the 30,000 children we serve live in the dry corridor. A remote region of Nicaragua that is challenged by extreme weather patterns and skyrocketing costs of food and fuel. This November, we’re on a mission to ensure that 3,500 children served by 34 local church partners receive not just meals, but messages of hope and stability for the remainder of 2023
Give a Meal

is a Christian nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking cycles of generational poverty among highly vulnerable children in Nicaragua through holistic transformation and empowerment, in partnership with local churches.

This November, we’re on a mission to provide hope and nourishment to 3,500 vulnerable children in Nicaragua’s hardest hit region, the dry corridor.
Thousands of children are facing malnutrition, but they don’t have to. We can provide children their best, and for many, their only meal of the day. Now, until November 28th, every donation made will not only be doubled, but will feed vulnerable children immediately in 2023.

“Every Meal is a Message” is a heartfelt initiative running throughout November, dedicated to providing nourishing meals and messages of hope immediately in 2023 to 3,500 vulnerable children in Nicaragua’s hardest hit regions of the dry corridor.

We sat down with our donors and asked a very powerful question;
“If you could send a message to a child who receives a meal because of you, what would you want them to hear?”

Migration

Why the Dry Corridor?
November marks a significant transition in Nicaragua’s dry corridor.
This is the month they transition from the rainy season to months of drought, exacerbating food shortages and malnutrition among vulnerable children. Over half of the children we serve are in this region, facing unpredictable weather, disrupted farming patterns, and soaring food prices, especially in northern areas like Madriz, Jinotega, and Nueva Segovia.
Our Response:
ORPHANetwork is actively working in these regions,
providing 850-calorie meals formulated by our nutritionists, alongside emotional and community support through local church-based feeding centers.

How Your Gifts Make A Difference:
It costs $0.33 to provide one meal.
We aim to distribute 152,000 meals to over 3,500 children in 2023. Every dollar donated goes directly to providing these essential meals, especially crucial during the tough transition from rainy to dry months in regions like Madriz, Jinotega, and Nueva Segovia.
Why Now Matters:
3,500 children in the northern-most part of the dry corridor are at risk of malnutrition

and undernourishment due to food shortages and the lack of affordable, high-quality food. This situation is hindering their
physical development, making immediate support vital for their well-being.

The Power of Giving Tuesday
all November long

Originating as a global movement,

Giving Tuesday is a dedicated day of generosity celebrated right after the consumer-centric events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

BUT this year…

we’re extending our efforts throughout November to support the children in Nicaragua’s dry corridor.

Every day is a chance to contribute, fostering a month-long movement of impactful giving and collective action for transformative change.

The Challenge

More than half of the vulnerable children we serve through ORPHANetwork’s local church partners in Nicaragua reside in the dry corridor, a geographical region that stretches through Cental America. People in the dry corridor face immense challenges due to erratic weather patterns that have drastic effects on the food supply, which can present challenges to all aspects of their lives. When a church offers a nourishing meal to a vulnerable child, one whose family is often struggling for daily survival, that child’s hunger can subside to hear the message of love and hope found in Jesus Christ
