As a long-time member of Willow Creek Church, John gives generously to God through the Willow Creek Association. After embarking on an ORPHANetwork vision trip to Nicaragua in 2010, John caught the vision and excitment for using his God given gifts and talents to serve the children there. Shortly thereafter, TransNational Payments became ORPHANetwork’s first business partner. John joined the Board of Directors where he faithfully donates his time and valuable business acumen to shape and advance the ministry that serves more than 22,000 children.
“Do good, be rich in good deeds, be generous and willing to share… So you may take hold of life that is truly life.”
1 Timothy 6:17-19
John’s conviction for changing lives in Nicaragua is infectious. By inviting friends on vision trips, seven investor family partnerships, two U.S. church partnerships, and three business partnerships have been formed that currently provide almost $200,000 of annual support. Each one of those partnerships is unique to the heartbeat of investor.
“Our entire family has grown as a result of our involvement with ORPHANetwork. The trip to Nicaragua really opened our eyes to the needs we might be able to help meet. As a result, our commitment to the communities and families we serve there has become our family’s mission. We speak often to friends and colleagues of our experience and the joy it has brought to us.”
John Chapman, CEO Chief Investment Officer, Clearwater Capital
“Being Personally involved with ORPHANetwork strengthens my faith and grounds me. Over time I’ve become very selective in my giving, but I know I will be involved for many years because I know that’s how God wants me to use my resources.”

In 2014, John was inspired by a message given by Senior pastor Bill Hybels at Willow Creek Church to create My Well Ministry. My Well Ministry provides churches and nonprofits with credit card processing services at zero cost. John says, “Everything I have I owe to God. God gave me this business so I feel it’s the least I can do. I don’t look at it as losing money, I look at it as investing. I look at it as leveraging for the Kingdom.”
