873 Leaders Impacted by The Global Leadership Summit in Nicaragua
Leadership and Relationship Development of our Nicaraguan partners is one of ORPHANetwork’s key strategies for bringing our children to Christ. We strategically emphasize the development and relational training of our local partners because we truly believe that Nicaraguans can and will solve the problems of Nicaragua.
One of the leadership development tools we have been proud to utilize each year since 2008 is the Willow Creek Association’s Global Leadership Summit (GLS). This year we hosted 873 leaders across 5 regional host sites (from coast to coast) in Nicaragua! Beginning with January Summits in Managua, Matagalpa, and Leon, followed by Puerto Cabezas in February, and Bluefields in March, our Nica team worked tirelessly to execute a first-class experience for all in attendance.
Maximizing the rich learnings from the Summit, ONET Country Director, Eddy Morales, incorporates favorite Summit speakers into quarterly training meetings that we hold for our Local Church Initiative Pastors and Orphanage Home Directors. Just last week, Eddy used GE’s CEO, Jeffrey Immelt’s Summit interview to guide the leadership development portion of the training meetings. This is just one example of the practical application that the GLS has for God’s Kingdom in Nicaragua.
ORPHANetwork and The Willow Creek Association have already scheduled the 2015 GLS in Managua for November of this year and we’re working on dates for our other regional host sites as well. What a privilege it is to collaboratively serve God through this invaluable ministry tool!
