Transition Students Experience Life in the United States

This month, two rising stars from our Transition Program were selected to visit the U.S. The goal was to honor them for their achievements thus far and also inspire them to continue to put in the hard work that it takes to achieve their dreams and break the cycle of poverty.

The Global Leadership Summit is a world-class experience Jazmina and Niccol will not soon forget. They were both blown away with their “Summit” experience and the level of excellence that Willow Creek executes this event.

Niccol, a college student interested in becoming a surgeon, and Jazmina, a psychology major, were provided a personal tour of the Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital just outside of Chicago. The hospital is one of the most modern in the area. The tour was led by ORPHANetwork supporter, Dr. Hythem Shadid, and it exposed the girls to the advancements in medicine and technology in the developed world.
